AKRON- Summit County Clerk of Courts Tavia Galonski today announced the unanimous passage of Ohio House Concurrent Resolution 6. Clerk Galonski is a cosponsor of Ohio House Concurrent Resolution 6.
House Concurrent Resolution 6 urges Congress to repeal the Windfall Elimination Provision and the Government Pension Offset.
“As a Former State Representative, I have long supported the reversal of the Windfall Elimination Provision.” said Clerk of Courts Tavia Galonski. “These provisions reduce and offset Social Security benefits for Ohioans that receive pensions from jobs that are not covered by Social Security. Teachers, firefighters, police officers, and public servants should not be penalized and denied the money they paid into Social Security. I urge Congress to act and repeal the Windfall Elimination Provision.”
House Concurrent Resolution 6 has been passed and adopted by the Ohio House of Representatives and the Ohio Senate.
