The Summit County Clerk of Courts office offers BCI & FBI Background Checks by APPOINTMENT ONLY. Please call 330-643-2065 to schedule an appointment. These background checks are performed at the Summit County Courthouse located at 205 S. High St, Akron, OH 44308. The Clerk of Courts office does not perform background checks for Ohio Peace Officers Training Academy, CCW, or fingerprint cards.
You will need to bring a completed background check form (see below). This form must include the ORC Code Number and exact description from the listed BCI and FBI Codes. You will need a valid government issued photo ID (Driver’s License, State ID, Military ID, Green Card, or Passport) and an accepted form of payment (cash, check, credit card, or money order).
