Prosecutor Kolkovich, Clerk Galonski, & Summit Legal Defenders Assist over 150 People.

AKRON, Ohio (Wednesday, October 30. 2024) – Summit County Prosecutor Elliot Kolkovich and Summit County Clerk of Courts Tavia Galonski are happy to report the success of the first-ever one-stop expungement filing day. 

169 people attended the four-hour event at the Summit County Courthouse to have their felony convictions reviewed to be sealed or expunged, based on the requirements under Ohio law. After checking in with The Summit County Clerk of Courts office, attendees spoke with the Summit Legal Defenders Office and the Summit County Prosecutor’s Office. 

“Our Prosecutor, Elliot Kolkovich, had a great idea and I am glad we ran with it,” said Clerk Tavia Galonski. “We offered education to our returning-home citizens, and they responded with hope in their eyes.”

 “This event really shows the impact we can have on the community and those in need. I am so pleased to know we were able to help people move forward with their lives,” said Prosecutor Kolkovich. “Thank you to everyone who helped organize and set up the expungement day.” 

The expungement clinic included representatives from the Summit County Fiscal Office, Summit County Adult Probation, the Summit County Executive’s office, and the Summit County Child Support Enforcement Agency.
